Field expedition in Iceland. It is planned to carry out a field mission in July 2023 in the Northern volcanic Zone of Iceland, in order to study the brittle deformations that characterize the main rift zones. These field data will then work as a basis for further analyses by analogue modelling and numerical modelling.
Field experiment on Mt. Etna, Italy. It is planned a field mission in June 2023 along the 1928 fissure eruption zone, on the eastern flank of Mt. Etna, in order to carry out an active seismic experiment by Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) systems and a seismic gun to use fiber optic cables to provide information on the substrate. The focus is to try to trace the geometry and location of the shallow dyke below the 1928 fissure zone. This will be the first experiment on the application of DAS on such issue.
